Rebooted with the Windows XP (Professional SP3) CD in the drive and clicked install and it gives me an error saying there's no hard drive detected. I rebooted again and went in the BIOS and it detects the hard drive fine, then booted the Ubuntu LiveCD again and it detected the hard drive fine. So it's the damn Windows XP install CD that's messing up. Can anyone please help? The laptop is a HP Pavilion dv2315us.

Be Aware, IF you want to include HP chipset & Sata drivers via slipstream, you should remove MS ones from the.Iso you'll be creating before adding HP ones later in the process. You'll need a program like free 'N-lite' & 'Isobuster' (has free version choice during install) plus a full version of a burning program like Nero/Easy CD Creator/ etc. That has option to create a 'Bootable CD'. Most free & OEM bundled Burner versions don't include this feature except in pay upgrades or full retail versions. Nero preferable if you have the choice.
